Amritsar Sewa Samiti

  About Us

Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malyiya Ji
Amritsar Sewa Samiti was founded in 1924 by the enterprising youth of Amritsar having strong social commitment and humble resources. It so happened that inspired by Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malyiya Ji, some young men of the city gathered under the banner of Railway Sewa Samiti and started drinking water service for passengers at the railway station in scorching heat of summers. But the authorities at the railway station for the reasons unknown stopped them from doing so. Unfazed by this obstacle, these young men founded an organisation

namely Amritsar Sewa Samiti in 1924; and started an Ayurvedic clinic in a small rented premises at Khooh Suniarian. With the passage of time, the Amritsar Sewa Samiti grew up due to the contribution of its ever increasing and hard-working members. In 1939 the Amritsar Sewa Samiti became a registered organisation under the Societies Registration act. This was followed by an allopathic clinic that was started in a building donated by shri JaiRame Shah ji in Khooh Sunarian. Amritsar Sewa Samiti has by now grown into a huge organization with 70 running projects, by the date in the service of humanity.
